Our Story

Radio Ritmo began in 2002 as a passion project in our founder's garage. What started as an experiment in online broadcasting quickly gained momentum as listeners from around the world discovered our unique approach to radio.

In the early days of the internet, when streaming technology was still in its infancy, Radio Ritmo pioneered interactive features that allowed listeners to directly engage with hosts and each other. This commitment to two-way communication set us apart from traditional radio stations and established our reputation as innovators in the field.

Over the years, we've evolved with changing technology while staying true to our core values of community, diversity, and quality content. From our humble beginnings to our current global reach, every step of our journey has been guided by our listeners' feedback and our passion for creating meaningful connections through the medium of radio.

Meet Our Founder

Radio Ritmo Founder

Maria Gonzalez

Founder & Creative Director

Maria's journey in radio began when she was just 16 years old, volunteering at her local community station. Her passion for connecting people through audio storytelling led her to study communications and digital media, where she began to envision a new kind of radio experience—one that would leverage the internet to create genuine two-way engagement.

"I've always believed that radio is at its best when it creates a conversation, not just a broadcast," Maria often says. "The internet gave us the opportunity to reimagine what radio could be, making it truly interactive and community-driven."

With a background in both traditional radio and web development, Maria launched Radio Ritmo with the goal of building a platform that would blend the intimacy of radio with the interactive potential of the internet. Her vision continues to guide the station's evolution as we explore new ways to engage our growing global audience.

Creating Connections

By facilitating real-time interaction between hosts and listeners, interactive radio creates a sense of intimacy and connection that is often missing in traditional broadcasting.
